PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daft Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russian Zombie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young's entrance music is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. A fine choice. Russian Zombie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Zombie.
A chopping leg kick lands by Young.
Young tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zombie throws out a loose jab but Young uses good head movement to avoid it.
Young displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zombie throws out the jab.
Zombie avoids the body shot from Young.
Zombie avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Young misses with a lunging right hand
and Zombie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Young lands with a straight right. Zombie didn't see that one coming.

Young on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Young throws a hook but Zombie blocks it.
Young slips a jab from Zombie.
Daft Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zombie moves away.
Zombie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Zombie misses with a left hand
and Young counters with a low kick, right behind Zombie 's knee.
We've been informed that Zombie has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Zombie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zombie moves out of range as Young strikes.
Zombie scores with a hook.
Zombie connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Zombie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Young.

Young is rocked!
Zombie lands a brutal uppercut that launches Young off his feet! Young tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
