Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Howard Stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stern comes to the cage accompanied by The Great American Nightmare. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Potter!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've been hearing reports that Stern has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Potter checks a low kick from Stern.
A jab lands there for Stern.
Stern throws a hook to the side of Potter's head but Potter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stern slips a jab and a cross from Potter.
Stern tests Potter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stern lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Potter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stern's guard.

Stern is trying to control. Potter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That was a close round but I would say that Howard Stern will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Potter has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stern.
Potter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stern connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Potter scrambles back to his feet.
Potter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stern.
Potter shoots in and drives through. Stern sprawls well.

Potter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Potter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stern fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Potter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stern but Stern pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stern seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Howard Stern has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Potter.
Potter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Potter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Potter misses with a takedown attempt - Stern sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stern seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Stern shoots in and gets a takedown into Potter's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Potter manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Potter pulls guard effortlessly.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stern is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stern wants to pass the guard but Potter is keeping the position.

Stern stands and throws Potter's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Potter tries to bench press Stern off him but Stern keeps the position.

Potter is trying to control Stern's posture but Stern avoids it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stern wants to pass the guard but Potter is defending well.

Stern is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Stern is looking for a kimura but Potter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stern to get the leverage.
Stern wants to take a breather but Potter is having none of it.
Stern slows the pace down in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Potter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stern.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howard Stern is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Stern shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Potter as he avoids it easily.
Stern goes for a double leg but Potter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Potter continues to drive forward.
Despite the aggression on Potter's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Stern changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Potter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alexander Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stern throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Potter on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Howard Stern showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stern, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
