The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarty uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sigurdsson.
McCarty tries to counter with a clinch but Sigurdsson shakes him off and moves away.
McCarty connects with a body shot.
Sigurdsson tries to land a front kick but McCarty steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Darren McCarty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McCarty scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

McCarty lands a high kick to the side of Sigurdsson's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! McCarty dives into guard, looking to finish.
