Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Bourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen mama said knock you out as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Bourne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gunnar Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourne fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bourne misses the shot to the body.
Bourne blocks a head kick by Nelson.

Nelson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nelson slows the pace down.
Bourne tries to bench press Nelson off him but Nelson keeps the position.

Nelson stands up.
Nelson swinging wildly here.
Nelson misses with a head kick.
Nelson tries to bum rush Bourne with a series of wild strikes but Bourne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bourne drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nelson sprawls and moves away.

Nelson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bourne's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bourne tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bourne is working an open guard so Nelson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Bourne fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nelson to the ground. Bourne is now in Nelson's guard.

Bourne is working Nelson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Nelson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bourne sprawls well initially but Nelson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've been informed that Nelson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Nelson looks to land a combination but Bourne avoids it well.
Bourne keeps the fight on the outside.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bourne. Nelson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Nelson drives through with a takedown into Bourne's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nelson gets to his feet - Bourne follows without any prompting.
Bourne lands a nice shot that snaps Nelson's head back.

Bourne has Nelson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bourne pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nelson tumbling to the mat - Bourne dives into Nelson's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Bourne will probably get the nod.

Nelson tries to bum rush Bourne with a series of wild strikes but Bourne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bourne goes for a double leg but Nelson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nelson continues to drive forward.
Bourne connects with a looping right hand.
Nelson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bourne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bourne tries to sprawl but Nelson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nelson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Nelson escapes and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nelson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bourne did well to prevent Nelson getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nelson decides to stand up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bourne is defended easily by Nelson.

Bourne throws a right and a left that both miss.

Bourne will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nelson lands with a nice combination. Bourne backs away looking to recover.

Bourne tries to roll over but Nelson keeps him under control.
Nelson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Nelson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Nelson throws a sloppy head kick and Bourne moves out of range easily.

Nelson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Nelson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bourne is trying to get back to full guard.

Nelson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bourne to get to his feet.

Nelson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bourne to the ground. Nelson is now in Bourne's guard.

Bourne manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Bourne pushes Nelson off looking to stand but Nelson dives back in and keeps control.

Nelson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Nelson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Nelson is taking a breather. Bourne says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bourne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nelson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bourne is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Nelson prevents Bourne from improving his position.

Nelson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bourne looks for the body kick but Nelson saw that one coming.
Nelson misses with a series of wild punches.
Nelson lands with a kick to the temple. Bourne shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nelson doesn't manage to clinch there - Bourne circles away.
Nelson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nelson keeps the fight on the outside.
Nelson throws a series of punches but Bourne avoids them all with ease.

Gunnar Nelson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bourne comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gunnar Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nelson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bourne moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bourne misses with a few strikes there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nelson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bourne manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Nelson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Bourne is trying to force a seperation but Nelson has the dominant position.
Bourne tries to break free but Nelson pushes him back against the cage.
Nelson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Nelson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bourne is looking to break free of the clinch but Nelson has double underhooks.

Nelson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bourne gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nelson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bourne has his foot on Nelson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nelson works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bourne can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nelson controls the pace.

Bourne scores with a head kick. Nelson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nelson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bourne scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sloppy strikes from Nelson. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like Bourne wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bourne is looking to wear down Nelson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bourne closes the distance and clinches up with Nelson, looking for a takedown. Bourne pushes Nelson against the cage but Nelson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gunnar Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Nelson shoots in and gets a takedown into Bourne's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bourne manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Bourne's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bourne tries to stall but Nelson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Nelson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Bourne wants to control but Nelson is keeping busy.

Nelson stands up out of the half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Left hook, right uppercut from Bourne.

Nelson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bourne has his feet on Nelson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Bourne shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Bourne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I would just about give that final round to Gunnar Nelson.
Well Nelson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
