The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augusto Da Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beton.

Beton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Beton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Beton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Augusto Da Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Beton has Augusto Da Silva in his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Augusto Da Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Augusto Da Silva content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Beton has locked up a guillotine! Beton's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Augusto Da Silva is holding on here and Beton must be using up a lot of energy. Augusto Da Silva has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Beton gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

A determined Jos Beton didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
