The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babajide dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Kontio closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Babajide's guard.
Kontio stands up over Babajide, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kontio throwing strikes but missing.
We've been hearing good reports from Kontio's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Babajide has his foot on Kontio's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kontio works his way back into a safe position though.
Kontio looking to sit in guard and control but Babajide gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kontio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Babajide gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kontio throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Babajide escapes and throws Kontio's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Babajide is looking to take a break and control but Kontio is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Babajide tries to move to mount but Kontio blocks the move with his legs.
Kontio sneaks back into half guard.
Kontio is looking to control Babajide's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kontio avoid being mounted?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Babajide tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kontio knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Babajide wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kontio keeps working.
Kontio moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kontio wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Babajide is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
