Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cary Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taco Vaco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taco Vaco will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaco gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Patterson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Patterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vaco misses with a head kick.
Vaco swats away the attempt to clinch by Patterson.
Vaco throws a counter combo.
Patterson throws a head kick but Vaco moves out of range.
Vaco feints the counter takedown.

Patterson drives through and clinches with Vaco against the cage.
Patterson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vaco's efforts to push away.
Patterson is working for takedown but Vaco is calmly controlling the position for now.

Vaco wants to sweep here but Patterson controlling him for the moment.

Patterson is trying to control the position but Vaco postures up.
Patterson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vaco stands up from Patterson's guard - Vaco perhaps looking for a knockout.

Vaco dives in and scores a takedown into Patterson's guard.
Patterson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vaco manages to pass to side control.

Vaco stands and steps away. Patterson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Patterson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vaco moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
As Patterson backs off Vaco throws a huge counter combo but Patterson manages to avoid it all.

Vaco won't allow Patterson to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Patterson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Patterson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vaco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

As Vaco tries to get set, Patterson tries to push him back and clinch up but Vaco manages to avoid the attempt.

Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vaco paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vaco feints a counter leg kick.

Vaco feints and as Patterson raises his hands in defense, Vaco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vaco stands up and waves to Patterson to follow him.

Vaco has Patterson up against the cage in a clinch.

Vaco gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Patterson pushes Vaco off and scrambles back to his feet.

Vaco shoots in and bounces Patterson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patterson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vaco has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Vaco cracks Patterson with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Patterson tries to buck Vaco off but Vaco is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vaco is staying tight to Patterson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Let's hope that Vaco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Patterson is trying to get back to his feet.

Vaco thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vaco has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vaco instigates a clinch.

Patterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Vaco closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Patterson to the mat! Patterson manages to get full guard.

Patterson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Vaco presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vaco fails to land with a series of punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Vaco jumps into guard, dragging Patterson to the mat.
Vaco utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Patterson postures up in Vaco's guard and throws a big left but Vaco blocks it.
Vaco really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Patterson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
