The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meikalainen lands a glancing blow to the side of Sammich's head.
It looks like Sammy Sammich has been cut.
Meikalainen checks a leg kick nicely.
Sammich walks into a jab.
Sammich lands a nice looking body kick.
Meikalainen cracks Sammich with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sammich looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Meikalainen finish him?
Sammich is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Meikalainen throws a leg kick which misses Sammich's front leg but catches the back leg as Sammich tries to avoid it.
Meikalainen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sammich moves away.
Meikalainen misses with a lunging right hand
and Sammich counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Meikalainen lands a jab to the nose.
Matti Meikalainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Meikalainen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sammich manages to avoid it.
Sammich gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Oh Sammich is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sammich throws a big shot that misses.
Meikalainen throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Sammich crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Matti Meikalainen!
