Matsushina thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Khalidh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Matsushina passes Khalidh's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Khalidh is trying to control but can't.
Khalidh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Matsushina is pressing down on Khalidh's thigh, looking to free his foot. Khalidh is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khalidh is looking to control Matsushina's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Khalidh avoid being mounted?
Khalidh looks like he's trying to stand up.

Matsushina wants to work for an arm triangle but Khalidh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Matsushina is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Khalidh is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Akihiro Matsushina decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Khalifa Khalidh was interviewed post fight and said 'Nice fight and thank you all, this time i was unlucky. I promise to be back stronger and better.'.
