Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Humberto Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Humberto Bowers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derrick Kelly!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly throws a series of punches but Bowers avoids them all with ease.
Kelly looks to land a combination but Bowers avoids it well.
Kelly misses with a kick to the body.
Bowers really is a fat lump.
Kelly throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Kelly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bowers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bowers feinted with a counter takedown.
Kelly slaps away a takedown attempt from Bowers, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bowers shoots in looking for a takedown but Kelly manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bowers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kelly closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Bowers clinches with his opponent.

Bowers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bowers fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Humberto Bowers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kelly looks to land a combination but Bowers avoids it well.
Kelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bowers wants to clinch.
Kelly looks to land a combination but Bowers avoids it well.
Kelly throws a push kick but Bowers slaps the foot to one side.
Kelly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bowers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kelly somewhat.

Kelly does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bowers fails with a takedown attempt.
Kelly tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bowers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Derrick Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelly avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kelly misses with a double jab.
Bowers takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A nice leg kick lands there from Bowers.
Kelly cracks Bowers with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kelly throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Bowers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kelly!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bowers is looking to take a break and control but Kelly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Kelly's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kelly tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bowers easily slips into full mount!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kelly working to try and regain half guard.
Kelly tries to hold on but Bowers pushes him away.
Bowers tries to push Kelly's head away but Kelly is holding on tight.
Bowers avoids the attempt from Kelly to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derrick Kelly dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bowers tries to clinch there but Kelly circles away.

Bowers has managed to clinch.
Bowers blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kelly.
Kelly blocks the elbow strike.
Kelly effectively controlling the action here.

Bowers breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly throws a nice looking combination but Bowers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kelly fails to land with a series of punches.

Bowers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kelly swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bowers shoots for a double leg takedown but Kelly sprawls well. He's pushed Bowers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A combination from Kelly does no damage.
Bowers seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Kelly misses the shot to the body.
Kelly stuffs the takedown attempt from Bowers. Bowers gets slowly back to his feet.
Kelly throws a series of strikes that have Bowers backpedaling.
Kelly throws out a leg kick but Bowers moves out of range and Kelly only half commits.
No joy there for Kelly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bowers or perhaps it was just good defense by Kelly, which made it look bad.

Kelly throws a leg kick

and Bowers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Kelly makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Kelly is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bowers gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kelly.
Kelly throws a right and a left that Bowers avoids nicely.
Kelly fakes the leg kick and cracks Bowers in the body.

Kelly throws a sloppy head kick and Bowers moves out of range easily.
Kelly throws a body punch but Bowers moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kelly is trying to maintain a safe position but Bowers gets an underhook and turns Kelly into the cage.
Bowers lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Bowers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Bowers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Bowers moves into the clinch.
Bowers has a couple of punches blocked by Kelly.

Bowers throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kellys head.
Kelly is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kelly lands a hook that snaps the head of Bowers backwards.
Kelly prevents the takedown attempt.
Bowers working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Bowers makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Bowers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Derrick Kelly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Kelly has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kelly misses with a low kick as Bowers jumps back.
As Kelly tries to get set, Bowers tries to push him back and clinch up but Kelly manages to avoid the attempt.

Bowers shoots for a takedown but Kelly saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kelly pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bowers back to the cage. Kelly follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Kelly lands with a good body shot.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Kelly.

and Bowers counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kelly stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bowers moves out of range of the body kick from Kelly.
Kelly looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kelly tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bowers is able to avoid easily.
Bowers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Kelly tries to work over Bowers's front leg with a kick but Bowers checks it.
Kelly tries to bum rush Bowers with a series of wild strikes but Bowers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bowers tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kelly manages to circle out of the way.

and Bowers counters by clinching up.
Bowers on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Bowers manages to break the clinch.

Bowers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kelly was covering up waiting for the punch and Bowers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bowers works over Kelly with some ground and pound from guard.
Bowers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Humberto Bowers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
