Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ali Bagautinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dre Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ali Bagautinov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dre Phoenix !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phoenix gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Bagautinov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Phoenix controlling the position.
Bagautinov tries to bench press Phoenix off him but Phoenix keeps the position.
Bagautinov wants to control but Phoenix postures up.
Bagautinov is looking to regain half guard here but Phoenix keeps moving and retains side control.
Phoenix advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phoenix looking to control and managing it successfully.

Bagautinov is desperately trying to improve his position but Phoenix has a good base and remains in mount.
Phoenix tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like Phoenix might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Phoenix is continuing to stall.

Bagautinov regains half guard.
Still in half guard, Phoenix seems content to control.
Bagautinov won't allow Phoenix to pass to mount.
Well, if Phoenix is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bagautinov tries to roll over but Phoenix keeps him under control.
Bagautinov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Phoenix controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bagautinov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phoenix 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Bagautinov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bagautinov won't allow Phoenix to sweep him here.

Bagautinov trying to control the position from guard on top but Phoenix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bagautinov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phoenix swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Phoenix wants to sweep here but Bagautinov controlling him for the moment.
Phoenix is pulling down on Bagautinov's head. It's preventing any offense from Bagautinov, at least for the moment.
Bagautinov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dre Phoenix dominated that round.
That's time! Bagautinov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bagautinov moves out of range as Phoenix strikes.

Bagautinov tries to counter with a takedown but Phoenix is quick to defend against it.

Bagautinov is looking for a sweep. Phoenix is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bagautinov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Phoenix is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bagautinov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Phoenix sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Phoenix is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bagautinov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Phoenix tries to get to full guard but Bagautinov has control of the leg.
Phoenix should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Phoenix has control of Bagautinov's left arm, preventing Bagautinov from doing any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Phoenix has his hands on Bagautinov's head, controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Phoenix is on top in guard.

Phoenix is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Phoenix sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bagautinov's guard.

Phoenix is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Dre Phoenix showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bagautinov half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Bagautinov shoots for a takedown but Phoenix saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bagautinov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Phoenix controls the pace.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bagautinov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Phoenix sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Phoenix throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bagautinov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Phoenix is in Bagautinov's guard.

More stalling from Phoenix .
Bagautinov wants to sweep here but Phoenix controlling him for the moment.
Phoenix is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Phoenix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bagautinov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Phoenix changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bagautinov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

You can see the frustration on Bagautinov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dre Phoenix comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Phoenix has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
