Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walt Spector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hederson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spector comes to the cage accompanied by Down with the sickness. Mike Hederson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Walt Spector's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Walt Spector!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Hederson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spector misses with a body shot
and Hederson counters with a low kick, right behind Spector 's knee.
Spector misses with a double jab.
Hederson shoots in looking for a takedown. Spector tries to sprawl out of it but Hederson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spector manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hederson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hederson jumps guard.

Spector gets to his feet - Hederson follows without any prompting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spector throws a series of punches but Hederson avoids them all with ease.

It looks like Mike Hederson has been cut.
Hederson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spector paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Spector is looking for a counter combo.
Hederson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A countering left hand to the body from Hederson misses.
Spector uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hederson.
Spector definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hederson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Walt Spector seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick by Spector misses
and Hederson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Spector is breathing heavily.

Hederson rushes Spector and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Spector wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hederson is trying to pull guard but Spector has him pressed against the cage.
Spector is trying to drag Hederson to the mat but Hederson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hederson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spector smiles and moves away.
Walt Spector has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hederson.

Hederson rushes Spector and presses him up against the cage.

Spector pulls guard effortlessly.
Hederson content to stall in guard here.

Hederson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hederson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hederson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spector is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hederson, into his guard.

Hederson wants to stand up but Spector is controlling him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spector wants to get up but he can't break Hederson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Spector not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hederson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Spector is trying to control the position but Hederson postures up.
Hederson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hederson is in close to Spector's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Spector is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hederson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Spector dives on top into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Spector decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Spector's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hederson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hederson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Spector wants to control from the top but Hederson keeps moving.
Spector passes Hederson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hederson is looking to escape.
Hederson is staying active underneath Spector, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spector is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hederson keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Hederson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hederson.
Walt Spector overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Spector is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hederson instigates a clinch.
Spector is trying to force a seperation but Hederson has the dominant position.

Hederson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Spector tries to free his leg and advance position but Hederson is retaining full guard.
Spector slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hederson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Spector is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Hederson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spector walks away with a smile on his face. Hederson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Spector misses the shot to the body.
Spector comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Spector rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hederson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hederson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Spector fails to land with a series of punches.
Hederson is trying to counter with his kicks.
Hederson dodges the punch combination from Spector.
Spector feints a jab promting Hederson to slip. Spector then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hederson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice sprawl there from Hederson as Spector shoots in.
Hederson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Hederson is looking to clinch.
Spector was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hederson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Hederson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Spector throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A left and a right from Spector both land. Nice combination.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hederson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spector walks away with a smile on his face. Hederson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Spector throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hederson counters with a low kick, right behind Spector 's knee.
Hederson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spector paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Spector is looking to wear down Hederson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hederson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spector tries to avoid it but Hederson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spector to the ground. Spector escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Spector looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spector fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hederson checks it well.

Hederson clinches up with Spector and pushes him back against the cage.

Hederson drags the fight down to the ground.

Spector drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hederson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hederson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hederson!


Hederson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spector is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hederson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Spector has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hederson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hederson controls the position from side control.
Spector struggling a bit here.
Spector managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hederson.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hederson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Spector has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hederson but great work by Spector.
Hederson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Spector decides to stand back up. Spector steps back and let's Hederson get back to his feet.
Spector fails to land with a series of punches.
Spector misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hederson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Spector throws a body punch but Hederson moves out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hederson.
Spector will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hederson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Spector throws a leg kick
and Hederson counters with a three punch combo that has Spector backing up. Spector nods at Hederson to acknowledge the strikes.
Spector throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hederson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hederson forces Spector back against the cage and clinches.
Hederson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spector walks away with a smile on his face. Hederson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hederson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Spector napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Spector bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Spector scores with a jab to the body.

Hederson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hederson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spector gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hederson misses with a punch to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mike Hederson.
I think Hederson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Mike Hederson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Walt Spector was interviewed post fight and said 'Not the first and won't be the last but I will come back more infectious than ever! It has been a long road from boy to man but please be assured I will be the greatest!!'.
