Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bannon McMurphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bannon McMurphy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bannon McMurphy!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMurphy lands with a hook. Cameron tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Marcelo Cameron has been cut.
A good leg kick by Cameron.

McMurphy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McMurphy has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Cameron has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
McMurphy has had enough of the clinch but Cameron keeps him there for the moment.
McMurphy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cameron has him pressed against the cage.
McMurphy trying to control the position but instead, Cameron has worked for underhooks and has pushed McMurphy into the cage.
Cameron looks to throw an elbow but misses.
McMurphy working hard to break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on McMurphy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cameron misses with a knee to the head.
McMurphy takes an elbow to the temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McMurphy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cameron has him pressed against the cage.
McMurphy avoids the elbow strike from Cameron, against the cage.

Cameron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cameron could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
McMurphy throws a nice looking combination but Cameron bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Cameron counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cameron.
McMurphy is looking to control Cameron's arms but Cameron gets an underhook and turns him. Now McMurphy has his back to the cage.
McMurphy is trying to break the clinch but Cameron is controlling him.
Cameron lands a shoulder strike.
McMurphy looking to stall.
Cameron's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
McMurphy is looking to break free of the clinch but Cameron has double underhooks.
McMurphy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
McMurphy is trying to force a seperation but Cameron has the dominant position.
Cameron slowing the pace effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McMurphy is trying to push Cameron away but Cameron has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
McMurphy tries to circle away but Cameron has him pinned against the cage.
Cameron manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
McMurphy wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

McMurphy is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cameron is keeping busy.
McMurphy tries to break free but Cameron pushes him back against the cage.

Cameron drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cameron tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McMurphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Cameron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McMurphy wanted to stand there but Cameron had control of the position.
Cameron keeping moving, preventing McMurphy from controlling successfully.

Cameron has a closed guard, preventing McMurphy from standing up.
McMurphy looking to sit in guard and control but Cameron gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McMurphy is trying to keep Cameron in close.

McMurphy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cameron can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McMurphy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Cameron has passed into side control.
McMurphy trying his best to control but Cameron has mounted him.
Cameron landing shots from mount.
Cameron lands a big elbow.
McMurphy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cameron is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McMurphy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McMurphy shrugs it off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McMurphy is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cameron postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McMurphy looks a forlorn figure.

Cameron looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
McMurphy is trying to stand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McMurphy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cameron lands a nice shot to the head.
McMurphy is bucking up trying to escape but Cameron cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


McMurphy is rocked!
Cameron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cameron unloads with some vicious shots from mount and McMurphy wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Cameron celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcelo Cameron!
