Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lionel Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prometheus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lionel Kline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Prometheus Maximus!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximus looks to land a body kick but Kline moved away.
Kline went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Maximus drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kline kicks Maximus off and gets to his feet.

Maximus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kline sneaks out the side door and pushes Maximus away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Prometheus Maximus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maximus closes the distance and clinches.

Maximus turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Kline throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Maximus instigates a clinch.
Maximus blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kline misses with some punches.

Kline pulls Maximus into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maximus throws a big right hand that misses.
Kline wants to stand but Maximus is controlling the position.
Kline really is a fat lump.
Maximus sitting in guard here, content to control.

Kline has his feet on Maximus's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Maximus clinches up with Kline and pushes him back against the cage.

Maximus turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kline pushes Maximus away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maximus gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
A lull in the action here.
The strikes coming from Maximus are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Maximus swings around for an armbar but Kline sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maximus's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maximus can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kline is really struggling to control Maximus but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Kline throws a big elbow that misses.
Kline is working Maximus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Maximus is looking to stand up but Kline isn't so interested in that idea.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kline throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maximus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Maximus drives through with a takedown into Kline's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Kline is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Maximus keeps the fight on the outside.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Maximus.
Kline sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Maximus seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kline might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maximus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kline swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kline pushes Maximus off and scrambles back to his feet.
Maximus throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kline was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Maximus is breathing heavily.

Maximus throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Prometheus Maximus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Maximus drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lionel Kline overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Maximus stops Kline from standing up.
Kline lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Maximus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kline wants to control from the top but Maximus keeps moving.

Maximus shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kline manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kline has his feet on Maximus's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kline doesn't manage to clinch there - Maximus circles away.
Kline shoots in looking for a takedown. Maximus tries to sprawl out of it but Kline keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maximus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kline staying out of range there.
Kline is looking for a counter combo.

Maximus takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Maximus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kline was covering up waiting for the punch and Maximus finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kline has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Maximus is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kline misses with a knee to the head.
Maximus trying to stall but Kline improves his position.

Kline throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Maximus blocks it with crossed arms.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Kline connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Maximus's hands.
Maximus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kline tries to clinch but Maximus is having none of it.

Maximus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kline!
Kline is trying to control Maximus's posture but Maximus avoids it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maximus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kline's head.

Kline misses with a series of wild punches.

Maximus tries to close the distance and clinch but Kline swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kline looks to land a left hand but Maximus moved out of range nicely.

Maximus wants to stand but Kline has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Kline is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kline wants to control but Maximus is keeping him busy.
Maximus looks like he's trying to stand up.

Maximus is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kline scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kline is trying to control the action in half guard but Maximus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kline is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maximus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kline content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Maximus wants to stand back up but Kline manages to pass into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kline wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maximus keeps working.

Kline throws a lazy right hand but Maximus sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Maximus tries to counter with a clinch but Kline shakes him off and moves away.
Kline throws a series of punches but Maximus moves out of range.
Maximus is looking for the big counter here.
Prometheus Maximus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lionel Kline is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kline fails in his attempt to clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kline, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
