Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ryan moves into the clinch successfully.
Ryan is trying to force a seperation but Robinson has the dominant position.
Ryan is trying to pull guard but Robinson has him pressed against the cage.
Ryan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Robinson walks away with a smile on his face. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ryan jabs Robinson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ryan shoots and misses
and Robinson counters with a two punch combo.
Scott Robinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Ryan.
Robinson throws a head kick that Ryan semi-blocks.
Ryan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ryan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Matthew Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ryan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Robinson enables Ryan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Robinson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Robinson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ryan controls the pace.

Robinson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ryan has his foot on Robinson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robinson works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ryan wants to stand and escape but instead Robinson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Ryan has managed to clinch.

Robinson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ryan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Robinson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ryan is in Robinson's guard.
Robinson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ryan has closed the distance and engaged Robinson in a clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A close second round but Matthew Ryan will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Robinson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ryan sprawls well. Ryan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Robinson gets slowly back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
