Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins misses with a leg kick.
Perfect lands a glancing blow to the side of Higgins's head.
A slapping leg kick lands for Perfect.
Higgins tries a head kick but it misses.
Higgins throws a left and a right that both miss
and Perfect cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Perfect.
Higgins scores with a body shot.
Perfect has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Higgins throws a nice looking combination but Perfect bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Higgins loads up on a big right hand but Perfect slips the punch.

and Perfect counters with a straight right hand.
Higgins takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Perfect cracks Higgins with a right hand to the side of the head.

Perfect fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Higgins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Perfect takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Perfect throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Higgins throws out a loose jab but Perfect uses good head movement to avoid it.
Perfect lands a nice leg kick that just misses Higgins's sensitive parts.
Higgins walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Perfect checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Perfect connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Perfect drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Higgins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Perfect.
Perfect has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Perfect throws a big elbow that misses.
Perfect looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Perfect pushes down on Higgins's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Higgins blocking the ground and pound attempt from Perfect.
Perfect perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Higgins wants to control but Perfect is keeping busy.

Perfect is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Higgins can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
