PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holly Shiet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holly Shiet struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 172.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Holly Shiet was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Holly Shiet!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shiet with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Snitch to score with a decent uppercut.
Shiet walks into a stiff left hand from Snitch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snitch.
Shiet moves out of range of the strikes.
Snitch looks to land a left hand but Shiet moved out of range nicely.
Shiet is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Snitch tries to clinch there but Shiet circles away.
Snitch sets himself, and Shiet steps forward looking for the clinch! Snitch avoids it this time.
Shiet throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Snitch misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snitch is standing up over Shiet. Shiet looks to escape but Snitch dives into side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Snitch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Snitch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Snitch shoots in for a takedown but Shiet shows good takedown defense.
Shiet throws a counter combo.

Snitch closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shiet quickly recovers to half guard.
Shiet is trying to escape back to his feet but Snitch uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Snitch slows the pace down.
Snitch has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shiet!

Snitch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shiet can do to turn this around?

Snitch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shiet for as long as he can get away with.
Snitch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shiet takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Snitch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Snitch dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


A telegraphed right hand from Snitch misses the target.
Snitch misses with a straight left.
Shiet with the counter takedown but Snitch avoids it easily.
Snitch throws a lazy right hand but Shiet sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snitch lunges at Shiet with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shiet's hand.
Shiet moves out of range of the strikes.
Jon Snitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snitch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shiet.

Snitch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shiet, pushing him back against the cage.

Shiet tries to circle away but Snitch has him pinned against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Shiet wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Snitch has him pressed against the cage.

Snitch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Snitch doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shiet counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Holly Shiet has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jon Snitch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snitch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shiet circles away quickly and effectively.
Shiet tries to counter with a clinch but Snitch shakes him off and moves away.
Snitch lunges at Shiet with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shiet's hand.

Snitch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Snitch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Snitch is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Snitch continues to stall.
More hug and hope from Snitch.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Snitch scores with a hook.
Snitch misses with a hook.
Snitch lands a leg kick that knocks Shiet off balance momentarily.
Shiet throws a right and a left that Snitch avoids nicely.
Snitch connects with a body shot that sends Shiet's belly button to the back.

Snitch misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shiet throws a counter combo.
Snitch works Shiet's body with a nice hook.
Snitch wants to slow Shiet down by chopping away at his legs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Snitch showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snitch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
