PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robledo Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puch's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Breathe. Miyata is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Boa - Energetic. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Robledo Puch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyata will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Miyata misses with a hook. Puch ducked under it nicely.
Miyata scores with a jab to the body.
A slow jab from Miyata misses its intended target.
Nice defenses there by Puch.
Puch staying out of range there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Miyata. Puch does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Miyata. Those never looked like landing.
Puch takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyata doesn't manage to clinch there - Puch circles away.

Miyata has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Miyata has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Puch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Puch throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Miyata escapes and throws Puch's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Miyata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puch keeps working.
Puch is trying to work for a sweep but Miyata has mounted him!

Puch shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Miyata misses with an uppercut. Puch saw that one coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Puch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Robledo Puch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Miyata seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Miyata wants to take a breather but Puch is having none of it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robledo Puch will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Puch is landing with some decent strikes but Miyata is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Puch scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Puch lands a heavy elbow.
Miyata is bucking up trying to escape but Puch cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Miyata slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Puch winds up and cracks Miyata with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Miyata is still in real trouble! Can Puch finish him?

Puch lands a big elbow - Miyata is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Puch!

Robledo Puch very nearly forgot to thank Hellbent amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
