Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ask Fairchild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hossein Vaziri Jr. (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). . Fairchild comes into the arena with Jesse & Joy - Llorar blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hossein Vaziri Jr.!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fairchild fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vaziri Jr., pushing him back against the cage.
Vaziri Jr. is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fairchild gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Fairchild misses with a hook to the ribs.
Vaziri Jr. drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fairchild pulls his leg out and moves away.
Vaziri Jr. throws a wild body kick that Fairchild sees coming a mile off.

Fairchild clinches up against the cage.
Fairchild doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Vaziri Jr. lands with a right to the head.
Fairchild tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Vaziri Jr. is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ask Fairchild has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hossein Vaziri Jr..
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fairchild.
Fairchild tries to throw a body punch but Vaziri Jr. avoids it by throwing Fairchild back against the cage.
Fairchild tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vaziri Jr.'s elbow.
Fairchild swings wildly with an uppercut but Vaziri Jr. uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vaziri Jr. has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fairchild after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vaziri Jr. wants the takedown. Fairchild is fighting it off but Vaziri Jr. persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fairchild's guard against the cage.

Fairchild working for a triangle but Vaziri Jr. defends it easily.

Fairchild has his foot on Vaziri Jr.'s thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vaziri Jr. works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fairchild has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vaziri Jr. can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fairchild really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fairchild is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vaziri Jr. is aware though and is defending well.

Vaziri Jr. got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fairchild has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vaziri Jr. has managed to get both his arms back between Fairchild's legs - danger averted.

Vaziri Jr. seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Fairchild tries to roll over but Vaziri Jr. keeps him under control.
Vaziri Jr. is nestled in close to Fairchild, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vaziri Jr. lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Fairchild is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vaziri Jr. pulls his head out easily.

Vaziri Jr. tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fairchild knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Vaziri Jr. is nestled in close to Fairchild, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fairchild tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vaziri Jr. wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Vaziri Jr. lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Fairchild! Vaziri Jr. senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Fairchild out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!
