Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angelos Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stamatis's entrance music is Audiomachine - Earth Shaker. A fine choice. Child has chosen VooDoo as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angelos Stamatis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Child!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamatis lands with a nice combination. Child backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Marcus Child has been cut.
Child moves in looking to clinch but Stamatis pushes him off.
Child swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Child ducks under a wild hook from Stamatis.
A shot to the body from Stamatis misses
and Child connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Child throws the left hand but Stamatis avoids the punch easily.
Stamatis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stamatis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stamatis half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Stamatis swings for the body but Child moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Child. That's going to slow Stamatis down.

The fighters circling - Child throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Child lands a head kick. Stamatis smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Child has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stamatis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Stamatis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Child manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stamatis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Stamatis is working Child over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Child is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Child is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stamatis is aware though and is defending well.

Stamatis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Stamatis makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Child is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stamatis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Child's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Child's back!
You can see the frustration on Child's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Child pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stamatis back to the cage. Child follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Child fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Good exchange - Child coming out on top.

Stamatis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Stamatis winds up and cracks Child with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Angelos Stamatis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Child works his way to full guard. Good work.

Stamatis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Stamatis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Child looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stamatis stands up over Child, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stamatis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Stamatis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Child has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stamatis has managed to get both his arms back between Child's legs - danger averted.
Stamatis postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Child covers up, he's hurt! Stamatis keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Stamatis and the ref steps in to end the fight! Stamatis can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Angelos Stamatis!
Angelos Stamatis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
