Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronny Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronny Hewitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez avoids the head kick by Hewitt.
Hewitt throws a sloppy head kick and Martinez moves out of range easily.
Martinez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Martinez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hewitt is trying to defend but Martinez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Martinez is trying to work for a kimura but Hewitt is defending well.
Hewitt gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez controlling from the top position.
Martinez prevents Hewitt from getting back to his feet.

Martinez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Martinez wants to control from the top but Hewitt keeps moving.

Martinez stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Martinez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hewitt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Martinez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hewitt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hewitt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martinez on the ground.
Hewitt is looking to stand up but Martinez isn't so interested in that idea.

Hewitt keeping moving, preventing Martinez from controlling successfully.
Martinez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Martinez stands and steps away. Hewitt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Martinez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hewitt manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Martinez fails in his attempt to clinch.

Martinez feints and as Hewitt raises his hands in defense, Martinez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hewitt is wriggling around but Martinez manages to pass to half guard.
Hewitt is trying to stand back up but Martinez is controlling him
Hewitt landing a few short strikes.
Martinez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hewitt controls his leg.
Hewitt slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Martinez looks winded!
Hewitt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martinez is one step ahead there.
Hewitt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Martinez looking to sit in guard and control but Hewitt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hewitt cracks Martinez with a solid left hand.

Hewitt stands up from Martinez's guard - Hewitt perhaps looking for a knockout.

Hewitt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round but I would say that Ronny Hewitt will probably get the nod.

and Martinez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hewitt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Martinez counters with a three punch combo that has Hewitt backing up. Hewitt nods at Martinez to acknowledge the strikes.
Martinez is looking to clinch.
Hewitt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Martinez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Martinez is keen to just control but Hewitt is a slippery customer.
Hewitt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Martinez wants to pass the guard but Hewitt is keeping the position.
Martinez prevents Hewitt from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez throws a big elbow that misses.
Hewitt wants to stand up but Martinez is controlling him.

Martinez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Martinez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Martinez is breathing heavily.

Martinez goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hewitt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Martinez's guard! Nice work there by Hewitt!

Martinez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hewitt's guard.

Hewitt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hewitt thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Hewitt wriggles free and stands up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hewitt has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Martinez is on him like a limpet, forcing Hewitt back against the cage.

Hewitt tightens his grip and picks Martinez up, before dumping him to the ground. Martinez manages to land in guard.

Martinez pushes Hewitt off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hewitt throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A head kick misses from Hewitt.

Martinez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hewitt!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hewitt is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

A close second round but Robert Martinez will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Hewitt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Martinez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hewitt quickly recovers to half guard.

Martinez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hewitt works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Hewitt is standing up over Martinez. Martinez looks to escape but Hewitt dives into side control.


Hewitt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Martinez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hewitt is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Martinez regains half guard.
Hewitt prevents Martinez from improving his position.

Hewitt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Martinez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hewitt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Martinez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hewitt scores with a couple of nice shots.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Martinez is staying active underneath Hewitt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Martinez is trying to get back to full guard.

Ronny Hewitt showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hewitt has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
