The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Jurgel catches Lawson right on the button with a cross.
Jurgel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lawson.
Lawson rushes Jurgel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Lawson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lawson lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Jurgel manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Lawson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jurgel is defending well for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jurgel looks to land a combination. Lawson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lawson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lawson is sitting in close to Jurgel's body. Jurgel has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lawson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lawson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Jurgel.
