Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lefteris Samaras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gasan Umalatov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Umalatov's choice of entrance music: Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umalatov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Samaras sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Umalatov somewhat.

Samaras throws a series of punches but Umalatov moves out of range.
Umalatov feints the counter takedown.
Umalatov darts in looking for a takedown but Samaras gets double underhooks and turns Umalatov into the cage.

Lefteris Samaras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gasan Umalatov.
Umalatov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Samaras.

Umalatov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Samaras's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Umalatov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Samaras is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Umalatov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Samaras as he jumps to the side.
Samaras throws a lazy right hand but Umalatov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Umalatov ducks under a wild hook from Samaras.
Umalatov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Umalatov is looking for a kimura but Samaras is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Umalatov to get the leverage.

Umalatov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lefteris Samaras will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Umalatov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Samaras tries to avoid it but Umalatov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Samaras to the ground. Samaras escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Samaras lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Samaras is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Umalatov can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Samaras, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
