The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris loads up on a big right hand but Fellows slips the punch.
Morris pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fellows stuns Morris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Fellows chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Morris can pounce on him.

Fellows gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Morris's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Morris wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Morris tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fellows just stands there and leans against the cage.

Fellows manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fellows lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
We've been told by Fellows's head coaches at Elite Strikers that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Morris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fellows to keep the fight standing.

Morris jumps guard but Fellows stands there with Morris around his waist. Morris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dean Fellows has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Melvin Morris.
Morris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fellows works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

and Fellows counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Morris crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fellows - the referee stops the clock and Morris gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fellows. Morris manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Morris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morris changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Morris will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Morris fails to land with a series of punches.
Fellows lands with a kick to the temple. Morris shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fellows connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Morris's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
