The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Gingerson closes the distance and clinches.
Jones lands with a left to the head.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gingerson has time to react.
Gingerson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Gingerson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Gingerson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Jones counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gingerson thinking.
Jones lands a right hook to the body.
Jones lands a lovely overhand right.

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alf Gingerson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jones duly obliges.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jab, jab by Jones - just one landing.
Gingerson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Gingerson is rocked!

Jones connects with a right that clearly hurt Gingerson. He's backed up against the ropes with nowhere to go as Jones proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Gingerson collapses and taps out under the pressure!
