Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reefer Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vin Diesel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Reefer Shark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vin Diesel!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel fails in his attempt to clinch.

Diesel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Diesel uses his free foot to push down on Shark's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shark.
Shark is squirming around, avoiding Diesel's attempts to control the action.
Diesel scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Shark?

Shark defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Diesel.
Diesel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diesel scoring with strikes but Shark is staying in there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Diesel looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Shark wants to hold on but Diesel pushes him away.
Shark keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Shark is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Diesel misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Shark is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Diesel moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shark has worked his arm free - good work by Shark!
Diesel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shark is looking to regain half guard here but Diesel keeps moving and retains side control.

Diesel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shark is looking for a sweep.
Diesel tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Diesel fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Diesel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Diesel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shark keeps working.

Diesel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Diesel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shark knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Shark is not content to let Diesel control the position.
Diesel tries to advance to mount but can't.
Shark on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shark tries to get out of the position.
Shark dodges the ground and pound from Diesel.

Diesel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shark parries the strikes from Diesel easily there. Diesel is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shark to escape.

Diesel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shark is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Diesel yanks on the arm and Shark is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Diesel.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Vin Diesel!
