Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allen Boes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wenutu Halai!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halai slips a jab and a cross from Boes.
Boes misses the jab.
Boes looks to throw the jab but Halai is out of range.
Halai looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Halai avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Halai takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Halai moves away from the strike by Boes.
Halai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boes lands a nice hook to Halai's body. Halai takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Halai looks to land a left hand but Boes moved out of range nicely.
Boes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Halai tests Boes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Boes keeps the fight on the outside.
Left hook, right uppercut from Boes.
Halai misses with a hook. Boes ducked under it nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Halai.
Boes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Boes with a nice cross.
Halai slips a jab from Boes.
Halai steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Boes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boes throws a lazy uppercut
and Halai counters with a stiff right hand.
Halai misses with a looping left.
Boes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Boes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Halai manages to avoid it.
Halai tries to counter with a clinch but Boes shakes him off and moves away.
Boes misses with a two punch combination.
Halai misses with an uppercut. Boes saw that one coming.
Boes misses with a looping left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Halai! But no joy.
Nice cross by Boes.
Halai is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Boes knocks Halai out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Allen Boes!
