Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cory Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dieter Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tan comes to the ring accompanied by Tapau. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dieter Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt scores with a kick to the midsection.
Tan throws a shot to the body.
Tan throws a leg kick that misses.
Schmidt throws a right and a left that both miss.
A jab from Tan finds it's way through Schmidt's defenses.

It looks like Dieter Schmidt has been cut.
A cross from Tan lands.
Good leg kick by Schmidt there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Schmidt misses with a lunging right hand
and Tan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Tan misses with a wild body shot.
Schmidt is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Tan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Schmidt only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Schmidt fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tan misses with a looping left.
Tan lands a body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A decent looking body kick lands there for Schmidt.

Tan is looking to wear down Schmidt with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Tan misses with a leg kick

and Schmidt moves into the clinch.

Schmidt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schmidt moves out of range as Tan strikes.
Tan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schmidt.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Schmidt.
Tan cracks a nice hook into Schmidt's ribs.
A solid body kick from Schmidt.
Tan ducks under a wild hook from Schmidt.
Tan throws a leg kick but Schmidt moved away.
Tan misses with a lunging right hand
and Schmidt counters with an inside leg kick.
Dieter Schmidt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Schmidt throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Schmidt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schmidt throws a hook but Tan blocks it.
Tan takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
A head kick from Schmidt lands but Tan takes it in his stride.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Schmidt throws a sloppy head kick and Tan moves out of range easily.
It looked like Tan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Tan throws a jab when Schmidt was well out of range.
Tan ducks under a wild hook from Schmidt.
Tan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schmidt moves away.
Tan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tan moves into range and connects with a jab.
Schmidt moves to clinch but Tan breaks away
and Tan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Schmidt throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tan on the side of the head.
Schmidt lands with an overhand left.
The fighters circle, before Schmidt throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Tan's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Schmidt lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
