Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Hespanhol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timmy Sims!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Hespanhol!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sims is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hespanhol's half guard.

Hespanhol pushes Sims off and gets back to his feet.

Sims closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hespanhol throws Sims to one side and escapes!
Sims could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Good exchange - Sims coming out on top.
Sims misses with a series of wild punches.
Hespanhol is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Hespanhol gets caught napping as Sims dives in and scores a takedown. Hespanhol manages to retain guard.

Hespanhol looking for a guillotine here but Sims defends easily.

Hespanhol looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hespanhol trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hespanhol wants to control the position but Sims says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Hespanhol tries to roll over but Sims keeps him under control.
Hespanhol trying to hold on to Sims's head to control him but Sims postures up.

Sims is trying to work for a kimura but Hespanhol is defending well.
Sims passes into side control, despite Hespanhol's attempt to control the position.

Hespanhol pushes Sims away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sims gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
You can see the frustration on Hespanhol's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hespanhol tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Hespanhol can't do much from the bottom here.
Hespanhol is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sims has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sims decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Hespanhol clinches.

Hespanhol wants to take the fight to the mat but Sims manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hespanhol has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sims after a bit of a struggle.

Sims pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sims drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hespanhol has his feet on Sims's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hespanhol throws a right and a left that Sims avoids nicely.
As Hespanhol tries to get set, Sims tries to push him back and clinch up but Hespanhol manages to avoid the attempt.

A right-left combo lands from Sims.
Sims throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hespanhol on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sims lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hespanhol misses with a combination

and Sims moves into the clinch.
Hespanhol changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sims fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Timmy Sims has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Hespanhol.

Sims bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hespanhol is trying to work for a sweep but Sims has mounted him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Timmy Sims will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sims throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hespanhol.

Sims shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hespanhol napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sims throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hespanhol blocks it with crossed arms.
Hespanhol has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sims avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hespanhol changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sims fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sims decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hespanhol has one foot on Sims's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Sims feints and as Hespanhol raises his hands in defense, Sims changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hespanhol is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hespanhol is looking to take this one to the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hespanhol accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sims is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hespanhol has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sims utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sims trying to keep a closed guard but Hespanhol is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sims closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hespanhol is trying to drag Sims to the mat but Sims just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sims breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sims gets a double leg takedown into Hespanhol's guard.
Hespanhol is trying to keep Sims in close.
Sims might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sims's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Sims avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Carlos Hespanhol will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Hespanhol clinches.
Hespanhol drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sims gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sims stops a takedown attempt from Hespanhol.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hespanhol has Sims pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sims manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hespanhol takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hespanhol is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sims is defending well.

Hespanhol gets control of Sims's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hespanhol will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sims feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sims is standing up over Hespanhol. Hespanhol looks to escape but Sims dives into side control.

Hespanhol is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sims connects with a decent elbow.

Sims decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hespanhol avoids a punch combination nicely.
Despite the aggression on Hespanhol's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Timmy Sims is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hespanhol gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hespanhol has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sims is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Hespanhol is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Sims seems to be looking for submissions.
Hespanhol is looking to control Sims's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hespanhol avoid being mounted?
Hespanhol is pressing down on Sims's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sims is working Hespanhol over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sims connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Sims fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hespanhol, pushing him back against the cage.
Hespanhol is working for takedown but Sims is calmly controlling the position for now.

Sims breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Timmy Sims showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sims has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
