PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Laprise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Schilling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schilling has chosen Sweet Caroline-Neil Diamond as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laprise shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schilling's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laprise is looking to work some ground and pound but Schilling has wrist control.

We've been hearing good reports from Laprise's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Schilling parries the strikes from Laprise easily there. Laprise is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Schilling to escape.

Well, with Schilling on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Laprise is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Laprise has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Schilling to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Laprise is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Schilling pulls down on the head and he's put Laprise to sleep! This one is all over!
