Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Vurny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kowalski has chosen Pantera - Fucking Hostile as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brutus Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vurny tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kowalski misses with an uppercut. Vurny saw that one coming.
Vurny takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Aldo Vurny has been cut.
Kowalski throws a hook but Vurny avoids it easily.
Vurny tries to counter with a takedown but Kowalski is quick to defend against it.
Vurny avoids the body shot from Kowalski.
Kowalski wants to land a leg kick but Vurny is out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vurny.

Kowalski felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vurny connects with a nice short shot to Kowalski's temple.

Vurny is really struggling to control Kowalski but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Vurny is fighting to break Kowalski's control of his arms but Kowalski is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Kowalski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vurny's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vurny seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kowalski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kowalski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vurny's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vurny's back!
