The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barnaoui. Barnaoui obviously looking to wear him down.
Hughes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hughes has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Hughes gets caught flat footed, as Barnaoui shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hughes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barnaoui defends well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barnaoui content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Hughes has locked up a guillotine! Hughes's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Barnaoui is holding on here and Hughes must be using up a lot of energy. Barnaoui has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hughes gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
