Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Milat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Honza Kucera!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milat misses the shot to the body.
Kucera changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Milat lands with a nice body punch.

Milat has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight.
Milat dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kucera. That did some damage!
Kucera takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kucera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Milat sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kucera is trying to work for a kimura but Milat is defending well.

Kucera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kucera looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kucera stops Milat from getting back to his feet.

Milat kicks Kucera off and gets back to his feet.
Ivan Milat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kucera throws a sloppy head kick and Milat moves out of range easily.
Milat is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kucera.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Milat will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kucera tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Good shot there by Milat.
Milat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kucera.
Kucera feints the counter takedown.

Milat lands a head kick. Kucera smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Milat scores with a jab.
Milat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kucera.
And Kucera tries to counter it with a takedown but Milat pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Kucera tries for a takedown but Milat manages to get underhooks.
Milat lands an elbow just above Kucera 's eye.


It looks like Honza Kucera has been cut.
Kucera wants to take the fight to the mat but Milat manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kucera has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Milat avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ivan Milat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Honza Kucera.

Milat lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kucera backwards.
Milat with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Milat gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Kucera pulls Milat in to control the position.

Milat trying to control but Kucera is working from the bottom.
Kucera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kucera is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Milat has his hands clasped together but Kucera extends and breaks Milat's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kucera.
