Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blair Oneill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaggy Sergei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Blair Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shaggy Sergei!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Sergei.
Oneill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sergei jumps guard but Oneill stands there with Sergei around his waist. Sergei gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sergei wants the takedown. Oneill is fighting it off but Sergei persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Oneill's guard against the cage.
Oneill managing to control the position.
Sergei's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Oneill utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oneill is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Oneill keeping moving, preventing Sergei from controlling successfully.

Sergei decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oneill, up you get!

Sergei drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sergei trying to control but Oneill is working from the bottom.
Sergei trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sergei must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Oneill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sergei controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sergei scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Oneill pulls Sergei in close to prevent any damage.
Sergei throwing strikes but missing.
Sergei stays in close to Oneill's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Shaggy Sergei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sergei misses with an uppercut. Oneill saw that one coming.

Sergei looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Oneill!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oneill is pushing Sergei's head away, looking to escape. Sergei manages to hold on to the position though.

Sergei stands up and beckons Oneill to his feet.

Sergei fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oneill sprawls well initially but Sergei persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sergei thows a huge punch but Oneill dodges it nicely.
Sergei content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sergei not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oneill wants to control but Sergei is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneill tries to get to full guard but Sergei has control of the leg.
Sergei seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sergei is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sergei trying to pass the guard but Oneill defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaggy Sergei dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sergei dips to his left and cracks Oneill with an uppercut!

Oneill has managed to clinch.

Sergei tightens his grip and picks Oneill up, before dumping him to the ground. Oneill manages to land in guard.
Sergei preventing the sweep.
Sergei stands up over Oneill, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sergei wants to control from the top but Oneill keeps moving.
Sergei might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oneill haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sergei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oneill swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sergei gets the takedown into side control.
Sergei taking a break here but Oneill is having none of it and regains half guard.
Sergei trying to control the pace.
Oneill moves into full guard.
Sergei is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sergei with a flurry of punches that miss.
Oneill pulls Sergei in close to prevent any damage.
Sergei content to stall in guard here.
Sergei has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Oneill is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sergei misses with a takedown attempt - Oneill sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sergei swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Oneill holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Oneill prevents a takedown attempt there.

Sergei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sergei shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sergei was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Oneill tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sergei presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sergei misses with a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaggy Sergei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Oneill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sergei shoots in looking for a takedown but Oneill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sergei's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Oneill tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Sergei manages to circle out of the way.
Sergei connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


Oneill is rocked!
Shaggy Sergei is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oneill throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sergei rattles Oneill with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Oneill tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Sergei dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Oneill stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Shaggy Sergei!
