Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinn Raymond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Duch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quinn Raymond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rhys Duch!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duch tries a head kick but it misses.

Raymond closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Duch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Duch scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Duch is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Duch stands up from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duch moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Quinn Raymond has been cut.

Raymond tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Duch avoids it.

Duch has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Raymond clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Raymond breaks Duch's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Duch lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Raymond escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Duch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raymond has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duch has managed to get both his arms back between Raymond's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duch is looking to work some ground and pound but Raymond has wrist control.
Duch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raymond swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Raymond is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Raymond working a defensive guard but Duch manages to pass into side control anyway.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Rhys Duch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Raymond gets a clinch.
Duch lands a body punch.
Raymond prevents Duch from breaking the clinch.

Duch using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Raymond has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Duch sneaks out the side door and pushes Raymond away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Duch tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Raymond defends well and Duch ends up having to push Raymond into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quinn Raymond.
I think Raymond has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
