Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mayo Kermode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Ruden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mayo Kermode!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kermode wants to clinch up but Ruden keeps it at a distance.
Ruden bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kermode's head backwards.
Ruden keeps the fight on the outside.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ruden. That's going to slow Kermode down.
Kermode misses the shot to the body.
As Kermode backs off Ruden throws a huge counter combo but Kermode manages to avoid it all.
Kermode shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ruden as he avoids it easily.
Kermode shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ruden defends it nicely.

Kermode takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kermode lands an elbow inside that Ruden shrugs off.


It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.

Ruden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mayo Kermode seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ruden is looking for a sweep. Kermode is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ruden stuffs the takedown.

Kermode dives in and grabs Ruden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ruden pushes down on Kermode's head and hops out.

A jab from Ruden does it's job there.
Ruden buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ruden.
Ruden slaps away a takedown attempt from Kermode, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ruden drops Kermode with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kermode looks back up at him and smiles so Ruden waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruden darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Kermode's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Ruden before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Ruden!
Joe Ruden seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Mayo Kermode had this to say: 'The tower of power too sweet to be sour, funky like a monkey... oooooooohhh yeeeahhhhh'.
