PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Deacon Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sher Shah Suri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suri has chosen Bohemia - Kali Denali as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Deacon Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sher Shah Suri!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suri blocks a jab.

Suri does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Frost drops his hands momentarily and Suri takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Frost throws an overhand right that lands on Suri's shoulder, as Suri tries to avoid the shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Suri feints and then cracks Frost's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Frost down.

Suri has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Suri's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Suri's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Suri cracks Frost with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Frost is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Frost is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Frost lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oh Frost is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Suri closes the distance and catches Frost with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Frost is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Frost is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Frost is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Suri takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Sher Shah Suri!
After winning the bout, Sher Shah Suri thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Deacon Frost was interviewed post fight and said 'Stay classy!'.
