Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Charles Kota!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Barnett or perhaps it was just good defense by Kota, which made it look bad.
Kota is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Barnett with a body shot.
Barnett misses with a double jab.
Kota wants to counter the offense by Barnett and move into the clinch position.
Barnett has been working on his boxing with his coaches at WildBoar's Pig Pen (Strength and Conditioning) $40 in the buildup to the fight.
Barnett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kota is fending him off so far but Barnett persists. Nope, Kota circles away and we're back to standing.

Kota looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barnett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kota connects with a nice short shot to Barnett's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Barnett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kota's waist but Kota gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barnett off to one side.

Kota's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kota closes the distance and clinches up with Barnett, looking for a takedown. Kota pushes Barnett against the cage but Barnett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kota changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barnett tries to avoid it but Kota manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barnett to the ground. Barnett escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barnett has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Kota. Oh but Barnett has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Kota goes limp - he's gone! Barnett jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
