Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Temitope Obama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Peter Taphorn!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obama fails to land with a series of punches.
Taphorn ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Obama has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Taphorn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Taphorn looks to score with a jab to the body but Obama is just out of range.
Obama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taphorn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Temitope Obama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Obama is controlling Taphorn's trapped leg to prevent Taphorn from advancing to side control.
Obama wants to control but Taphorn is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Taphorn is controlling the pace.
Obama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Obama is trying to maintain the position but Taphorn is very close to passing his half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Temitope Obama will probably get the nod.

Obama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Obama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taphorn is working away from the top position though.

Taphorn is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Obama is surviving well by controlling Taphorn's body position as best he can.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Obama wants to control but Taphorn is having none of it.
