The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel tries to close the distance and clinch but Mangreg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And Mangreg responds with a good body kick, but Steel manages to step out the way in time.
Mangreg takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mangreg has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Mangreg goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mangreg throws a hook but Steel avoids it easily.
Steel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Steel, right into the meat.
Mangreg darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mangreg takes a swing at Steel's ribcage but misses.
Mangreg jabs Steel right on the nose. Steel blinks but takes it well.
Steel closes the distance and clinches.
Steel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mangreg backwards.
Steel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mangreg is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steel.

Mangreg wants to slow Steel down by chopping away at his legs.
Steel throws a sloppy head kick
and Mangreg counters with a nice uppercut.
Steel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Steel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Steel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Steel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mangreg was well out of range. Poor timing from Steel.
Steel lands with a straight right. Mangreg didn't see that one coming.
It looks like Harry Mangreg has been cut.
Butch Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mangreg misses with a hook. Steel ducked under it nicely.
Mangreg blocks the body kick.
Mangreg lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Mangreg counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheers as Mangreg lands an impressive looking overhand right. Steel doesn't seem phased though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Steel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mangreg. That did some damage!

I was talking to Steel's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
