Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wang Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spanky Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Edgar's choice of entrance music: Kick In The Door. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar circles away from the clinch attempt
and Edgar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Edgar fails to land with a series of punches.
Yu needs to keep his hands up - Edgar had a free shot at his head there.
Yu misses with a body shot.
Yu shoots in for a takedown but Edgar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Edgar throws out a counter right but Yu avoids it with no problem.
Edgar lands with an overhand left.
Edgar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yu gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Yu pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A jab lands there for Edgar.

Yu wants to clinch.

Edgar has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Yu is trying to keep an underhook but Edgar manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Yu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Edgar content to control rather than advance.
Edgar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Edgar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yu's head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yu trying to hold on to Edgar's head to control him but Edgar postures up.
Yu regains full guard. Nicely done.
Yu is breathing heavily.
Edgar throws a big right hand that misses.
Edgar stands up over Yu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Edgar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Edgar throws a strike but Yu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edgar can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's time! Yu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A jab from Edgar finds it's way through Yu's defenses.
A decent looking cross lands there for Edgar.
Wang Yu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Good exchange - Edgar coming out on top.
Edgar lands with a hook. Yu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Edgar might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Yu tries to clinch there but Edgar circles away.
Oh Yu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edgar closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Yu! Edgar dives in looking to finish! Yu is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
