Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathaniel Razna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shawn Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Razna has Michaels up against the cage in a clinch.

Michaels has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Razna regains guard immediately.

Razna seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Razna keeping moving, preventing Michaels from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Razna misses with an uppercut. Michaels saw that one coming.
Razna gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Michaels counters by clinching up.

Michaels wants the takedown. Razna is fighting it off but Michaels persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Razna's guard against the cage.
Razna is looking to stand up but Michaels isn't so interested in that idea.

Razna lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Razna remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Michaels looks to land a body kick but Razna moved away.

Razna tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michaels swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Razna shoots in but Michaels avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Michaels looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Razna is fending him off so far but Michaels persists. Nope, Razna circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Razna wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Razna's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Razna gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Michaels to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shawn Michaels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Let's hope that Michaels has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Michaels wants to stand but Razna has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Michaels feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Michaels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
