Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hironobu Uematsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hironobu Uematsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman moves out of range as Uematsu strikes.
Freeman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Uematsu.
Freeman with the counter takedown but Uematsu avoids it easily.
Freeman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Uematsu sprawls well. Uematsu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Freeman gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freeman shoots in looking for a takedown but Uematsu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Freeman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Freeman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uematsu swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Freeman throws a series of punches but Uematsu moves out of range.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Freeman just misses with a elbow thrown towards Uematsu's brow.
Uematsu tries to break the clinch but Freeman is controlling the position.

Uematsu has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Freeman is on him like a limpet, forcing Uematsu back against the cage.

Uematsu stuffs the takedown.

Freeman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Uematsu's waist but Uematsu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Freeman off to one side.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Uematsu throws a leg kick which misses Freeman's front leg but catches the back leg as Freeman tries to avoid it.
Uematsu throws a body punch but Freeman moves out of range.
Freeman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Uematsu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Uematsu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Freeman's head backwards.
Uematsu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Freeman rushes Uematsu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Freeman lands a left hand that snaps the head of Uematsu backwards.

Freeman turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Uematsu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Freeman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Freeman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Uematsu keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uematsu is trying to improve his position.
Uematsu takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Uematsu's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Uematsu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Freeman can do to turn this around?
Uematsu tries to lock up and control but Freeman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Uematsu here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Freeman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

I would just about give that final round to Matt Freeman.
I think Freeman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
