Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuya Shimizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carver Cade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimizu comes to the cage accompanied by Alright, let's do this.. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Yuya Shimizu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carver Cade!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cade tries to clinch up.
Cade takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Shimizu misses with an uppercut
and Cade counters with a two punch combo.
Shimizu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Cade fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shimizu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cade lands with a shot to the body.
Cade connects with the punch.
Shimizu lands with an overhand left.
Cade ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cade throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shimizu takes one on the button.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cade lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shimizu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shimizu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Shimizu takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cade lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shimizu backs up against the cage.
Shimizu throws a sloppy head kick and Cade moves out of range easily.
A little jabbing left from Cade on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Cade finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carver Cade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shimizu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A head kick misses from Shimizu.
Cade now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Cade feints and then cracks Shimizu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shimizu down.
Shimizu lands with a slapping head kick.

Good exchange - Shimizu coming out on top.
Cade tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shimizu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cade somewhat.

Shimizu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cade.
Shimizu tried to counter with a leg kick but Cade avoided it.
Cade jabs Shimizu to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Shimizu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cade sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cade connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Shimizu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cade looks to score with a jab to the body but Shimizu is just out of range.
Cade stuns Shimizu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Shimizu throws a hook to the side of Cade's head but Cade sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Cade throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Shimizu tries a head kick but it misses.
Shimizu shoots for a takedown but Cade saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cade gets the takedown into side control.
Shimizu takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Shimizu regains half guard.
Cade thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shimizu's head.
Cade thows a huge punch but Shimizu dodges it nicely.
Cade not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cade has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shimizu tries to kick Cade off but Cade keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cade wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shimizu keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cade drops an elbow to the side of Shimizu's head.
Shimizu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cade is trying to control the action in half guard but Shimizu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Shimizu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cade landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cade throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cade swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Shimizu counters with a three punch combo that has Cade backing up. Cade nods at Shimizu to acknowledge the strikes.
Nice uppercut there from Cade.

Cade darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cade wants to pass to mount but Shimizu is defending the position.
Shimizu is looking to control Cade's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shimizu avoid being mounted?
Shimizu is refusing to be controlled, as Cade sits in half guard.
Shimizu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carver Cade dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cade wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A nice leg kick lands there from Cade.
Cade scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shimizu doesn't seem bothered though.
Cade tries to work over Shimizu's front leg with a kick but Shimizu checks it.
Cade looks to score with a jab to the body but Shimizu is just out of range.
Shimizu darts in looking for a takedown but Cade gets double underhooks and turns Shimizu into the cage.
Cade tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shimizu defends well and Cade ends up having to push Shimizu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It seemed like Cade was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Cade tries to close the distance and clinch but Shimizu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cade will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Shimizu moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Cade has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shimizu.

Carver Cade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

A quick uppercut on the inside from Shimizu.
Shimizu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Cade tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Cade has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shimizu is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carver Cade is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cade tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shimizu's elbow.
Cade has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shimizu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Yuya Shimizu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carver Cade.

Shimizu is looking to control Cade's arms but Cade gets an underhook and turns him. Now Shimizu has his back to the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cade keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Shimizu's efforts to push away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yuya Shimizu.
I think Cade has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
