PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathaniel Razna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker has chosen Conquistador as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathaniel Razna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luke Walker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Razna closes the distance and clinches.
Razna tries to pull guard but Walker won't allow it.

Walker drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Razna working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Walker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walker looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Razna puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Razna missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Razna has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Razna is just content to waste time from the top position. Walker takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Walker wants to sweep here but Razna controlling him for the moment.
Walker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Razna. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Walker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Walker distracts Razna with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Walker wants to control from the top but Razna keeps moving.
Walker stands up over Razna, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Walker working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Walker stops Razna from standing up.
Razna can't keep his opponent in guard - Walker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Walker drops an elbow to the side of Razna's head.
Walker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Walker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Razna is breathing heavily.
Walker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Razna knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Razna regains full guard. Nicely done.
Razna will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Walker slips nicely into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Walker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.


Razna is rocked!
Walker scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Oh Razna is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Walker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Walker is trying to control. Razna wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Razna seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walker lands a big elbow - Razna is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Walker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Walker!
After the fight, Luke Walker was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
