Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lauri Lintunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Precious Roy!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lintunen scores with a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Lintunen. No joy for Roy on that attempt.
Lintunen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lintunen wants it to stay on the feet.
Roy shoots in and drives through. Lintunen sprawls well.
Lauri Lintunen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Precious Roy.
Roy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lintunen can pounce on him.
Roy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Roy there as he acknowledges the shot.
Roy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Roy working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Roy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Roy stands up over Lintunen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Roy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Roy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lintunen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Oh Lintunen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roy gets to his feet and stands over Lintunen, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lintunen felt that one! Roy unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lintunen from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Precious Roy!
Precious Roy took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
