The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kallio lands a jab.

Madison looks to score with a jab to the body but Kallio is just out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kallio has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Madison scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Madison throws a nice inside leg kick.

Madison throws a solid leg kick but Kallio takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Madison.
Madison fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kallio.
Tino Kallio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Madison looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kallio throws a head kick but Madison moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kallio tries for a takedown but Madison sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
As Kallio tries to get set, Madison tries to push him back and clinch up but Kallio manages to avoid the attempt.

and Madison counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Kallio closes the distance and clinches up with Madison, looking for a takedown. Kallio pushes Madison against the cage but Madison circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kallio looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Madison is fending him off so far but Kallio persists. Nope, Madison circles away and we're back to standing.
Madison is looking to slow Kallio down with leg kicks.

Kallio closes the distance and clinches up with Madison, looking for a takedown. Kallio pushes Madison against the cage but Madison circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Madison fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kallio just manages to avoid it.

and Madison counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kallio lets loose with a powerful body kick. Madison will feel that in the morning.
Kallio throws a sloppy head kick and Madison moves out of range easily.

It looked like Madison was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kallio.
Madison is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Kallio has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Madison.
Kallio tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Madison defends well and Kallio ends up having to push Madison into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Madison lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kallio at a distance.
Madison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kallio.
Madison is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Kallio turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheers as Madison lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kallio doesn't seem phased though.

Kallio throws the kick towards the body but Madison avoids it.
As Kallio looks to move away, Madison throws a big counter combo but Kallio just gets out of the way.
Kallio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Madison is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Madison cracks a nice hook into Kallio's ribs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kallio darts in looking for a takedown but Madison gets double underhooks and turns Kallio into the cage.

Kallio shoots in for a double leg but Madison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kallio doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Madison lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Madison connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kallio momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Madison cracks Kallio with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kallio looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Madison finish him?
