Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jed Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Bowman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bowman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Morris takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Jed Morris has been cut.
Bowman shoots in but Morris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bowman scores with a body shot.
Bowman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Morris tries to clinch up but Bowman circles away and keeps his distance.
Bowman pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morris wants to clinch up but Bowman keeps it at a distance.
Morris looks to clinch
and Bowman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Morris throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bowman counters by moving into the clinch.
Bowman lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Bowman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Morris pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slow jab from Morris misses its intended target.
Bowman tries to counter with a clinch but Morris shakes him off and moves away.
Bowman throws a body punch but Morris moves out of range.

Bowman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bowman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Bowman has hold of Morris's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Morris seems comfortable defending it but Bowman has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Morris is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Morris is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bowman couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tom Bowman!
