Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Kubiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Paddy Kubiak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stewart shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kubiak's guard.
Kubiak controls Stewart momentarily but Stewart frees himself.
Kubiak wants to sweep here but Stewart controlling him for the moment.

Kubiak is looking for a triangle but Stewart pushes his legs off easily.
Stewart is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kubiak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stewart wants to control from the top but Kubiak keeps moving.
Stewart would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kubiak looking for a guillotine here but Stewart defends easily.
Stewart won't allow Kubiak to sweep him here.

Kubiak looking to control.
Stewart looking to sit in guard and control but Kubiak gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Stewart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kubiak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kubiak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kubiak slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Stewart can't do much from the bottom here.
Stewart tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kubiak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stewart knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kubiak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stewart is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Stewart gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kubiak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stewart's head.
Kubiak missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kubiak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kubiak is looking to take a break and control but Stewart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stewart looking for submissions off his back.
Stewart wants to get back to his feet.

Kubiak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kubiak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stewart keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kubiak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stewart is just riding it out for now. Kubiak eventually gives up the hold.
Kubiak is trying to control. Stewart wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kubiak not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Stewart looking for submissions off his back.
Kubiak seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kubiak is looking for a kimura here.
Stewart is trying to stand back up but Kubiak is controlling him

Kubiak is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Stewart is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
