Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Aliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aliev has chosen Lezginka as his entrance music. Ali Aliev looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ali Aliev!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aliev forces Diaz back against the cage and clinches.

Diaz has picked Aliev up - he's going for a ride! Diaz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Aliev is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Aliev is controlling Diaz's position as best he can from this difficult position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Aliev gets full guard.

Aliev throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Diaz gets a double leg takedown into Aliev's guard.
Aliev is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aliev is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea.
Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Aliev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Aliev is trying to control the position but Diaz postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Diaz moves in looking to clinch but Aliev pushes him off.

so Diaz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Aliev wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Diaz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aliev is pulling down on Diaz's head. It's preventing any offense from Diaz, at least for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Aliev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diaz on his heels. He'll look to pass Diaz's guard now, I'm sure.

Aliev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Diaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aliev's half guard.
Aliev tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg.
Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Aliev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Diaz is really struggling to control Aliev but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Aliev is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aliev avoid being mounted?

Diaz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aliev sees it coming and defends easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Aliev was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Aliev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ali Aliev will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aliev's guard.
Diaz wants to stand but Aliev is controlling his posture from full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Diaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Aliev trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aliev distracts Diaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Diaz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Diaz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Aliev postures up and lands a big shot to Diaz's brow.
Aliev works over Diaz with some ground and pound from guard.
Aliev wants to stand but Diaz is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Aliev's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

And that's the end of the fight!
Nate Diaz showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Diaz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
